ADAM WITH DANNY BONADUCE, JOHN POPPER AND GEORGE FOREMAN — 5am to 10 am PST, November 3rd, 2006
6:00 THE OLD RADIO GUY
Adam’s happy that Danny Bonaduce is coming in today, because he’s a radio guy (or at least he used to be.) You can just give him a push, let him go, and he rides on his own. There’s a lot of guests on the show that, Adam feels, seem to be riding on square wheels. Some people don’t seem to be aware that they are on the radio, or they just don’t care.
6:06 JAMMING
There’s going to be some jammin’ going on in the studio today, Adam says, because John Popper is going to be coming in with his harmonica to play a little bit — and Adam brought his guitar to play along. Dave’s shocked by that. He had no idea Adam could even play.
6:08 JOE THE DRIVER
Joe calls up. He’s a truck driver, and he loves the show. That’s fascinating to Adam, because he’s not heading to work or from work — he is currently working. There’s something interesting about a job where you can get up against it, schedule-wise, the way you can as a trucker. Adam’s got a nice long speech about trucking being the backbone of America, but he’s going to go ahead and save it for another time.
6:10 MARK THE POET
Mark the Poet calls up with a poem for Adam.
6:20 ASSKISS RODEO
It’s time to play a spirited round of Asskiss Rodeo. Listeners call up and kiss Adam’s ass for as long as they can!
The show has a professional rodeo champion call in to play along a little bit, and to talk about some actual rodeo sport.
6:41 NEWS AND SPORTS
Teresa and Dave cover the news and sports.
7:06 TRIUMPH RECAP
Yesterday, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog came on the show, and tossed some insults around at Adam, Kimmel and the show. Today, they replay a bit of it.
7:13 BREAKING BONADUCE
Danny Bonaduce, of the hit television show Breaking Bonaduce, joins Adam and the crew in studio. The whole sobriety thing seemed like it was going to kill season two of the show, but Adam feels like maybe this season is going to be great anyway? Danny doesn’t actually watch the show, he says. He did start boozing during this season maybe, Adam asks? Well, Danny admits, if he starts drinking in his personal life, it’s a relapse. If he starts drinking on his TV show, it’s showmanship.
Adam and Danny talk about some of Danny’s “unique” life experiences.
A listener, David, calls up. He claims that he worked for Danny, as an intern. Danny wonders, how did he treat interns? David says that Danny’s a real nice, stand-up guy.
They take some more calls from people who either know Danny, or have seen him on TV.
7:54 EFFING CEE
Producer Angie comes into the studio, to tell a story of an altercation that radio personality Mancow had with Danny. Apparently, Mancow had been talking about a friend of Danny’s, who had Down’s Syndrome children. At the time, Mancow was dating Producer Angie, and there was some sort of a fight in the hallway… and Mancow hid behind Angie.
8:13 FIGHT!
A listener calls in and says that Danny should spar a few rounds in the ring with Adam. Danny doesn’t want to do it — he feels like the caller doesn’t get him at all.
8:20 BACK TO RADIO
Danny loves radio, he says, and he’d love to get back into it. “I will sit in this chair and be your sidekick right now,” he proclaims. Television is great, he adds, but he only does it for the money. Radio is where he really wants to be.
8:34 JOHN POPPER
John Popper of “Blues Traveler” calls up to talk. He was supposed to be in studio this morning to jam out with Adam, but unfortunately, he was delayed getting down from San Francisco.
He apologizes for not being able to come in and perform in person, but invites Adam to come out with him tonight at the Roxy.
9:19 NEWS AND SPORTS RECAP
Teresa and Dave recap the news and sports.
9:22 ROMAN VASSILENKO
Roman Vassilenko, press secretary from the Kazakhstani embassy in Washington, D.C., calls in to talk about this Borat controversy.
9:27 FOOTBALL PICKS
It’s time to make the picks for the weekend football games.

9:39 GEORGE FOREMAN
George Foreman, heavyweight champ and one of the greatest boxers of all time, joins Adam on the show. Adam has to point out that George was the heavyweight champion back when Nixon was president, and he was the heavyweight champ again when Clinton was president. That’s an outstanding feat no matter how you look at it, Adam adds.
Of course, besides being a boxing champ, he’s also a business champ. His George Foreman grills have sold over 90 million units since their inception, George tells the crew.
It’s known that George has a lot of kids, all named either George or Georgeretta. “Only the brothers can get away with that,” Adam feels. It’s not about that, George says. It’s about preparing for memory loss when you make a living as a boxer.
George tells a story of a near-death experience he had.
9:52 JASON
Listener Jason calls up. Apparently, Jason got out of a ticket by listening to the Carolla Show. He got pulled over for rolling a red light, and when the cop came to the window, he said to hang on — he was on hold, and about to get on to the Adam Carolla Show. The cop actually let him go because of that. “So, thanks Adam.”
