6:01AM – DREAM INTERPRETATION
Today is the last day of the Outbook August in April contest, so Adam will be parting with 10 grand. While he’ll be the ultimate decider, he invites listeners to give their opinion as well.
Adam is a mouth breather, so he’s now got a combination of a sore throat and some really f***up dreams. For example, a recent dream featured his childhood dilapidated house, his depressed mom, and some misdirected anger.
In Adam’s dream, the gist of it included he was up on the roof redoing it in the ‘right way’ and previously Ozzie had done it, so Adam was angry at him. The dream ended up being an interesting compendium of the day Adam had, but “with a little element of angst and danger.”
The reoccurring dream of having an animal bite and lock on his arm is one that Adam decides is a metaphor to slowly paying off the IRS for the thousands of dollars – it’s painful, but not as bad as ripping your arm away from the pit bull’s grasp.
6:26AM – TELL ME YOUR DREAMS
Adam invited some callers to share their own reoccurring dreams.
Danny shares outlook on Adam’s life thus far: no matter what he achieves in the future, he thinks Adam’s already hit his life’s high. Adam clarifies: there’s more memory behind going from rags to riches than from riches to riches. With just getting richer, “your life doesn’t change al the much.”
One caller had a reoccurring nightmare of his prior experience of getting shot through the head. The importance of Danny had a similar experience with Gretchen last night, where Gretchen got angry at Danny for something or other, but at this point no details are needed: it was related to the divorce and Gretchen’s feelings of inadequacy.
Adam had a similar experience with a director for the Man Show. “We fired what was a good 7.8, interviewed a whole bunch of 4s and 5s, then at the end of the season, we wanted our 7 back,” explains Adam. Unfortunately for Danny, with him and Gretchen, it’s not about moving up or moving down, it’s about moving away.
Some of the other reoccurring dream themes: naked in public, sexual encounters with people you work with, and the anonymous headless sex women have in their dreams.
6:55AM – ANGEL ADAM, DEVIL DANNY
Listeners are supposed to call in and give their moral dilemma – with Adam and Danny giving good and bad advice, but Danny was a little upset with the quality of caller issues during the last installment of the bit so he wants to up the ante.
One caller thinks that his girlfriends mother wants to have sex with him, though everybody doubts it a little bit here and there. Another guy’s boss continually smokes weed on the job, but the show has no problem with that one. Somebody’s question about one last fling before the marriage has Danny suggest that instead of marriage, the guy should put on an “armor of vagina” and surround himself with women.
7:22AM – TERESA STRASSER REPORTS THE NEWS
There’s been a lot of discussion and movement in the illegal immigration discussion, including multiple marches and boycotts planned nationwide.
A Madame has been arrested for supposedly providing ‘erotic services’ to some of the influential Washington businessmen, but because she’s going down, she’s turning over her phone records to ABC and threatens to bring down everybody else with her.
7:47AM – TERESA CONTINUES THE NEWS
Ellen Degeneres has been doing her show from a hospital bed after hurting her back trying to pick up her dog.
There’s also some references to sausage grinding and Danny’s sexual abilities, but it’s not really clear how the two are related exactly.
8:05AM – RED CARPET RADIO
Gay Bill went with Adam to Tribecca and spoke to some people on the red carpet on the way in – including Howard Stern, Camryn Manheim, the director Charles Wurmfeld, and Ozzie.
Adam gets sick of the ass-kissing, so he and Danny imitate Ozzie torturing all the reporters along the red carpet with his accent and one-upping of everyone.
8:28AM – ALEX AND LYNN – ADAM’S FAVORITE GAY COUPLE
One of Adam’s favorite gay couples from The Amazing Race, Alex & Lynn, are in the studio. Overwhelmed by their “overt gayness,” many of the people they experienced in the other countries didn’t know what to do with the couple. In fact, Alex came out to his Muslim Dad only after becoming famous on the show.
They’ve been a couple for 7 years, having gotten married in Canada 2 years ago, but originally they met at a now-defunct gay bar called “The Rainbow” in Bakersfield. Apparently, there are only 3 gay bars left in that particular city.
They have a website, lynnandalexworld.com, where they cover all the celebrity gossip. Regardless, Adam is jealous of the gays and Danny takes off his shirt for the boys. “Oh, I love Axe!” exclaims one of the boys.
They share some of the hot gossip about Tyra, other reality shows, and some of the crazy requirements Tyra demands from people on Top Model. The couple also explains that their blog is carving out a more specialized niche from Perez Hilton – celebrity reality.
8:54AM – WEEKLY WINNER
Adam will declare the $500 winner of last week, but later this hour will decide the winner of the 10K jackpot.
Playing back clips of the top contenders, Joe Pesci, Morgan Freeman, Chuck Lidell, Teri Hatcher, and William Shatner. Adam has a tough decision in front of him.
9:07AM – NEWS RECAP
Adam decides to award the best guest of the week to Morgan Freeman – booked by Angie. 40 minutes left to drag a celebrity to the studio or force them to call.
Teresa then recaps her news.
9:28AM – TALKING ABOUT HOW THEY WON’T TALK ABOUT RATINGS
Discussing the ratings, Danny realizes that since starting Outbook August, the number of listeners has gone up. Honoring his pledge never to speak of such self-serving topics, Adam agrees and then moves on.
Teresa checked the online votes for who should win the booking contest – but apparently there’s someone far ahead of the rest of the pack.
9:53AM – THE WINNER IS…
Intern David, Angie, Mike August, and Caller Noel are gathered in the studio to see which one will get the $10,000 from Adam.
Morgan Freeman is the overall winner – and it’s Angie!!
And with that, Adam thanks everybody and wraps up the show.
